Latin 101

In Latin 101, you will cover the first 10 chapters from our text and will acquire a sound understanding of the basics of the language’s syntax and grammar. By the end of this first module in the Introduction to Latin course sequence, you will have developed a vocabulary of approximately 300 words and will be translating adapted passages from Latin authors such as Virgil, Livy and Ovid. The accompanying lectures will not only expand upon the grammatical concepts covered in the text but also provide you with an orientation to the course, study tips, a synopsis of the historical period that comprises the bulk of our readings, and insights into the subject passages and authors.
